I've always preferred the Sky News app to the BBC app, but the recent addition of non-stop adverts ( especially at the beginning of videos) makes it a less enjoyable experience. I have an android phone and today the app just won't work....it keeps telling me there is no Internet connection, but my Internet connection is fine? I've noticed other similar reviews so I'm not sure whether this is an existing, temporary or permanent issue. I'll have to go back to the BBC in the meantime.

Great news site... Coverage is wide, easy to follow, editorial comments less biased than some other news sites. Only snag is with the 'more like this' feature... If you follow one story you're shown links to several other similar stories. If you want a quick skim of the day's main news stories then, I find, this feature is a distraction.

Any of the live/breaking articles that update with multiple related stories within it are totally unusable. You click one of the stories, it takes you to it in the page, you start reading it, then as soon as there's an update the whole thing jumps miles away from the story you were reading. Will be uninstalling and (reluctantly) returning to the BBC app if this isn't fixed soon.

So who was it thought it would be a better experience to ADD an extra step to the navigation? Now I can no longer tap through topics with a simple on-screen navigation bar, but now have to go into a submenu for each topic I wish to view. Time is precious and that's a massive backwards step...not for me any more.

New look less friendly, the bar at the top let you easily jump to news categories, now it's just one endless news page which forces news on you. BBC news made a similar change a while back, which is why I switched to sky news. Lazy design and basically following the crowd. Are the any app developers these days that consider the ? Or do what's easiest within new development framework.

Good for news, but recently, the drive for ads had made this a very poor experience to use. Already learned never to click on a video link for a story and starting to mean that I'm learning not to use at all in favour of other apps where news is uninterrupted by extremely irritating adverts.

Usually whinges it can't find an internet connection on startup even though there is one and everything else finds a connection OK. Can't read captions in landscape mode. Video clips don't show descriptions at all in landscape despite that mode being the natural one to view video. Needs more work.

The app is annoying if you click on a video loud adverts blast out, embarrassing on the train. Sunday, I tried to read the Elon Musk story but couldn't find it. I gave up on it. when I click on a story, I want to read it without being sidetracked to other stories.
