About the app:

Collabora Office for Android uses the same engine as LibreOffice for Windows, Mac, and Linux. This, combined with a new front-end based on Collabora Online, reads and saves documents similarly to LibreOffice desktop.

Collabora Engineers Tor Lillqvist, Tomaž Vajngerl, Michael Meeks, Miklos Vajna, Jan Holešovský, Mert Tümer and Rashesh Padia have been developing Android since 2012, with the help of Google Summer of Code students Andrzej Hunt, Iain Billet and Kaishu Sahu.

Not that bad but almost doesn't mouse and keyboard usage. Just tried in on spreadsheets and I can't scroll, CTRL+Scroll, or almost anything else that I could do on a computer. Settings are basically empty, can't even get a dark mode. I'm really trying to get a computer experience since it's cheaper than buying a laptop but I'm not getting what I'm looking for.

Open source licence, no data in background, no ads to annoy or impede its use. Allows to print using Default print service in Android. Better, in my experience, than a number of competing document-reading applications available in Play Store. It would be nice if we could open PDF files, too, in Collabora Office. 🙂

This is almost perfect... When I move a shape around a text document with a physical keyboard and mouse the screen moves behind it, which causes the document to just go completely crazy and lose track of where the shape is, not to mention it's near impossible to accurately drag it. If there was an option to not move the document while dragging (maybe by holding a key or something?) then I think that would fix it. Otherwise 10/10, this is what Word should be these days.

Hello! There's a few gamebreaking bugs for me in using this app that I'd like to bring awareness to. First, backspace only works once, requiring a relocation of the type cursor away and back again to remove another symbol. Likely a dealbreaker for many. Second, the word count option causes a full app restart everytime it is pushed, making word count checks impossible. A dealbreaker for me personally. I doubt these bugs are universal, however, I can only rate based on my personal experience.

Updated Review 10/08/24: The latest update fixed a lot of the issues with functionality. It's still slow and it does crash occasionally, but it's usable again. I'm using a Pixel 8 Pro, so it's not an issue with underpowered hardware on my end. Collabora is by far the best office suite available for Android, and hopefully it continues to improve.

Constantly crashes and often corrupts the data. Fixing tmp-file does nothing, i.e. you will lose your work. There is no "save as..." option but exporting file as .ods does work as a backup method. Editing is tedious. For example function wizard opens up and hides your table every time you are deleting someting on your formula, or trying to select multiple cells or selecting something on the right side of the screen scrolls the table to somewhere distant if you are not careful.

Best app I've found for libra and OpenOffice. Can easily edit documents in my google drive on my phone or computer and switch seamlessly between them so I can work on my book anywhere. Free. None of the paid junk you see on some apps. No changing file format. I'm thrilled. Wish I'd found this sooner!

Perfect application for viewing and editing OpenDocument formats. A good companion app with Nextcloud for editing remote documents. I took stars off because I couldn't find a fit-to-screen view like in Word or Google Docs (I'll keep looking). Also, selecting blocks of text hides the keyboard rather than opening a "right-click" menu, making it difficult to edit. Finally, I'd like to easily move documents written on my phone to my Nextcloud.
