The app mostly works when on a good network, but the whole point of a mobile streaming app is to be able to watch streams in places with spotty mobile networks but it fails miserably in that regard: it just stops completely and even crashes when it loses connection even temporarily... And sometimes the stream works but the chat doesn't... It's like Twitch named their logo "Glitch" for a reason 🙃

It used to be mediocre, but since the recent update, it's worse! Numerous useful navigation features were removed: thumbnails and titles for live streams of who you follow, same for streams of followed categories, same for VODs you have not finished watching. All replaced by random fullscreen streams I couldn't care less about. Why do you hate us so?

twitch has re-added the old following menu which is a big plus to the usability. however, the app still defaults to opening to the "short form" video feed. there have been no improvements to discovery features, with said video feed being the only option. the previous discover tab wasn't perfect but was still leagues ahead of the feed. I don't think the feed should be removed, but it definitely shouldn't be the default landing experience. neither should it be the only option for discoverability.

Edit: Twitch has listened to us, and rolled back some of the old changes, so I'm increasing from 1 to 4 stars. The following page is much better, and I'm happy to see the "continue watching" section again. OLD----- The update sucks. I prefer the old version where I could directly see my following channels and past videos to continue, than this full-blown tik-tok stuff

The most recent version of the app is worse than the last, which was itself a downgrade. I can't even see a list of channels I follow anymore. The weird layout of the app is clunky and frustrating. I don't want to have a stream I didn't click on play immediately upon opening the app. And I don't want to have to scroll through individual streams to get to the one I actually want to watch. These recent changes haven't made sense to me.

Least intuitive mobile app I have ever used. If you're going to force feed ments down our throats (on a live streaming platform...), it would be nice if it would actually load correctly. If it weren't for the one streamer I watch that still refuses to cross-stream, I would not use this app at all. Crossing my fingers that they wise up soon and I'll be giving Twitch the boot.

11/16/2024: They reverted the changes back to the old ui this is great. 5/30/2024: As of now 2 Stars. The new Ui Menu is confusing and has no clarity on how to navigate, which frustrated me beyond. The previous one was straightforward, where I could find my follow and/or subscribed twitch streamer. A simple row of, "Following" and easy navigating. I have no idea why the developers decided to change something that was very well made and easg to navigate to begin with.

- I don't receive ANY notifications when a streamer I sub to goes LIVE. (I checked all the settings in Twitch and Android and nothing is turned off.) - VOD playback can be broken. (After a copywrite section, it'll pause then skip 10-20 seconds.) - In general the layout is objectively worse than it was before this major update to the app. Chat is also bad with lack of for custom emotes, but whatever.
